While working on the Flora series I was inspired to print larger images so Argent was born. These monotone monoprints are pulled on Rives BFK 22" x 30" paper as bleed prints meaning the ink travels over the edge of the paper.
You can guess that this series is a lot of fun. Using large floral shapes that I hand-cut out of stencil board patterns emerge as the techniques of monotype, masking, off-set and ghost printing are applied. Surprising pattern combinations are created as the ink, some with a transparency additive, are layered atop eachother. The title of the series comes from the silver ink that is used in the process offering a shimmer to the overall piece.
