While working on the Flora series I was inspired to print smaller images so Miniflora was born. These colorful monoprints are pulled on Rives BFK and Strathmore 4.24" x 6" paper as bleed prints meaning the ink travels over the edge of the paper. The art is mounted on 7.5" x 11" Rives BFK paper.
You can guess that this series is a lot of fun. Using small floral shapes that I hand-cut out of stencil board patterns emerge as the techniques of monotype, masking, drypoint, off-set and ghost printing are applied. Surprising color combinations are created as the ink, some with a transparency additive, are layered atop each other. Most of these prints have gone through the press at least three times.
For some of the images in this collection high resolution, reproduction quality scans of approximately 350 megs each are available for licensing. These files reproduce at 300 dpi up to a size of 32" x 45".
