This series, Botanic, is based upon a set of hand-cut stencils in an abstract floral motif. Layers are created with monotype, masking, off-set and ghost printing to pull this growing series of monoprints. All are pulled on my large etching press, are allowed to dry before being mounted on wood cradled panels. Once dry the excess paper is trimmed off then the piece is coated in three layers of water-based polyurathane. This series was intentionally created with a cohesive palette and a limited number of shapes which makes them perfect to hang in pairs or groups. Each is framed in an oiled-fir float frame.
