These colorful monoprints are pulled on Rives BFK and Strathmore 15" x 20" and 15 x 22" paper as bleed prints meaning the ink travels over the edge of the paper. Using large floral shapes that I hand-cut out of stencil board patterns emerge as the techniques of monotype, masking, off-set and ghost printing are applied. A few of these prints (3 and 8) have a collagraph plate in the mix. Surprising color combinations are created as the ink, some with a transparency additive, are layered atop each other. Most of these prints have gone through the press at least four times.
These pieces form the Verdure series have sold.
